What is particular about learning here

There are many ways to read about money. What Cendekia Mekar offers is structured, facilitated learning that fits your stage of life — with content that is specific to Malaysia, kept free of product promotion, and paced to allow understanding rather than just exposure.

◆   Overview   ◆

Six Things Worth Knowing

Written for Malaysia

Content uses Malaysian instruments — EPF, KWSP, Amanah Saham, local ETFs — not generic frameworks imported from elsewhere.

No products sold

Cendekia Mekar has no commercial relationship with any financial product provider. Education is the only thing offered here.

Small groups

Group programmes are capped so there is space for individual questions. The retirement programme runs as one-to-one mentorship throughout.

Unhurried pace

Sessions are spaced weekly. There is time between each one to apply what was discussed and return with questions from real experience.

Qualified facilitators

All facilitators hold recognised qualifications in personal finance or adult education, with direct experience in the subjects they teach.

Written materials included

Participants receive printed and digital materials with every programme. The retirement programme also includes a written closing summary.

◆   In Detail   ◆

Each advantage, examined

Facilitator Expertise

The people who run these programmes have spent years working in personal finance education and adult learning in Malaysia. That means they know what participants at this stage of life tend to find confusing, what questions come up repeatedly, and how to make the EPF's evolving rules legible to someone who was not trained in finance.

  • Direct experience in EPF planning, insurance review, and household budgeting
  • Ongoing engagement with Malaysian financial regulations and policy changes
  • Adult learning methodology — sessions are designed for how adults learn, not how students do

Structured Learning Process

Each programme follows a deliberate sequence. Concepts are introduced before they are applied. There are charting and reflection exercises to connect what was discussed in session to your own numbers. The retirement programme includes a midway review so the second half of the engagement can be adjusted to what emerged in the first.

  • Sequential curriculum — each session builds on the previous one
  • Practical exercises that use your own financial picture, not hypothetical examples
  • Written summaries and materials to review between sessions

Responsive, Human Contact

Enquiries are answered within two working days. During an active programme, participants can submit questions by email between sessions — these are addressed at the opening of the following meeting. In the retirement programme, the mentor is reachable directly between monthly sessions for brief clarifications.

  • Pre-enrolment questions answered fully before any commitment is made
  • Between-session question handling for active participants
  • Direct mentor access in the retirement programme

Transparent Pricing

Each programme fee is stated before enrolment. It covers all session time, materials, and exercises. There are no add-ons, no continuation upsells, and no charges that appear after enrolment. The fee for the Whole-Picture Retirement Programme includes the midway review and the written closing summary as standard — these are not extras.

  • Pattern of Household Money: RM 590
  • Considered Investing Foundations: RM 2,140
  • Whole-Picture Retirement Programme: RM 2,790 — everything included

Outcomes That Last

The measure of a good financial education programme is whether participants use what they learned. The charting exercises, written summaries, and structured reflection in each programme are all designed with that in mind. Participants leave with documents they can refer back to — not just a memory of what was discussed.

  • Practical tools and frameworks that apply immediately to your own household
  • Written closing summary (retirement programme) to use as a reference document
  • Improved ability to read and interpret financial documents, disclosures, and fund statements

◆   What Sets Us Apart   ◆

Features You Will Not Find Everywhere

Written Closing Summary

Participants in the Whole-Picture Retirement Programme receive a written closing summary of the work done together — a document they can refer to long after the programme ends, share with family members, or bring to a licensed adviser as a starting point.

Fund Disclosure Literacy

The Considered Investing Foundations programme includes specific training on reading fund cost disclosures — a skill that is rarely taught explicitly but has a direct effect on the investment decisions participants make afterwards.

Healthcare Cost Planning

The retirement programme addresses healthcare cost provisioning specifically — an aspect of retirement planning that is often underweighted but is one of the most significant financial variables in a Malaysian retirement context.

Midway Programme Review

The six-month retirement engagement includes a structured midway review session. This allows the second half of the programme to be adjusted based on what was uncovered in the first — a level of responsiveness that a fixed curriculum cannot offer.
