1. About Cendekia Mekar
Cendekia Mekar is a financial education provider based in Kuala Lumpur. Our registered address is 81 Jalan Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. We offer structured learning programmes on household finance, investing fundamentals, and retirement planning, directed at adults aged 40 and above in Malaysia.
Our programmes are educational in nature. They are not financial planning services, investment advisory services, or any form of regulated financial service under the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 or the Financial Services Act 2013. Nothing we provide constitutes personal financial advice.
2. Programme Enrolment
Enrolment in any programme begins when you submit an enquiry or registration form through our website or by direct contact. Your place is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation of enrolment, typically by email.
Where a programme has a maximum group size — as stated in the programme description — places are allocated in the order in which confirmed enrolments are received. If a cohort is full at the time of your enquiry, we will inform you and, with your agreement, hold your name for the next available cohort.
By enrolling, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and that the information you have provided in the registration form is accurate.
3. Fees and Payment
Programme fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of all session materials unless otherwise noted in writing at the time of confirmation. Current fees are:
- The Pattern of Household Money — RM 590
- Considered Investing Foundations — RM 2,140
- Whole-Picture Retirement Programme — RM 2,790
Payment terms and accepted methods are communicated at the time of enrolment confirmation. Fees must be settled in full before the first session of any programme, unless a written payment arrangement has been agreed.
We reserve the right to update our fees for future cohorts. Any fee change will not affect confirmed enrolments already paid in full.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation by you: If you need to withdraw before the programme begins, please notify us in writing as early as possible. Cancellations made more than 14 calendar days before the first session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before the first session are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made with fewer than 7 days' notice are not eligible for a refund, though we will endeavour to transfer your place to a future cohort where circumstances permit.
Cancellation by Cendekia Mekar: If we need to cancel or reschedule a programme for reasons within our control, we will notify you as promptly as possible. You will be offered the choice of a full refund or a transfer to the next available cohort at no additional cost.
Absence from sessions: If you are unable to attend an individual session within a programme you have enrolled in, we are unable to issue partial refunds for missed sessions. Where feasible, we will share session notes or materials for missed content.
5. Programme Content and Delivery
We reserve the right to make reasonable adjustments to programme content, session scheduling, and delivery format in response to participant feedback, curriculum improvements, or circumstances outside our control. Any substantial changes to a programme after your enrolment will be communicated to you in writing.
Sessions may be delivered in-person at our Kuala Lumpur premises, online, or in a combination of both formats. The delivery format applicable to your cohort will be confirmed at the time of enrolment.
All written materials, exercises, and session notes provided during a programme are for the personal educational use of enrolled participants. They may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed for commercial purposes.
6. Educational Scope and Limitations
Our programmes are designed to build general financial knowledge and to help participants think more clearly about their own financial circumstances. They are not a substitute for personalised professional advice.
The concepts discussed in our programmes are general and educational. Individual financial decisions involve personal circumstances that our facilitators are not in a position to assess within a group learning context. Where appropriate, we encourage participants to consult licensed financial planners, tax advisers, or legal professionals in relation to their specific situations.
We do not make claims about the financial outcomes that participants will achieve. The value of applying what is learned depends entirely on each participant's individual circumstances and choices, which are beyond our influence.
7. Conduct in Sessions
We ask all participants to engage respectfully with facilitators and fellow participants. Personal financial information shared during group sessions by any participant is to be treated as confidential by all attendees. Facilitators do not share individual participants' disclosures with others outside the programme.
We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave a programme, without refund, if their conduct is disruptive to the learning environment or disrespectful to others. This is a rarely used measure, applied only where all reasonable steps have been taken to address the situation.
8. Intellectual Property
All programme materials, including written content, workbooks, exercises, and session frameworks, are the intellectual property of Cendekia Mekar. Participants are granted a non-transferable licence to use these materials for their own personal learning and reference.
The content of this website is the property of Cendekia Mekar. No portion of the website may be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
Cendekia Mekar's liability in respect of any programme is limited to the fee paid by the participant for that programme. We are not liable for any financial decisions made by participants as a result of attending our programmes, nor for any consequential loss of any kind arising from the use of programme content.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, as required by Malaysian law.
10. Personal Data
We handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia). Details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy. By enrolling in a programme, you confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy and consent to data processing as described within it.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from the enrolment in or delivery of our programmes shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We will always attempt to resolve any concern through direct conversation before any formal step is considered.
12. Updates to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of our website or participation in a programme following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For any material change affecting confirmed enrolments, we will notify affected participants directly.
Questions about these terms may be sent to [email protected] or by post to 81 Jalan Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur.
